Secondary Hard Drive Setup?

Specs: XP Pro, AMD 7750 BE / 3GB
I have a thin tower that sits flat Im gonna give to my Grandmother but she needs more room than the 40gb that it has in it now. It has more Satas so I have plenty of harddrives to reformat here. But is it like a plug and play thing can you just plug in the formatted harddrive and it gives you another drive letter to install and store stuff???? I really dont know how it works. What is the setup process like?

Not sure what you are saying here, the above statement leads one to believe that you have drives connected on the sata ports.
Or do you mean that you have sata ports unused, to which you want to add a drive?
Apart from having a formatted sata drive XP will need to have at least service pack 1 or above to recognise sata.
