Hi there,
I am currently running W2K with SP4.Ever since installing SP4 I can no longer play a certain game.I cannot uninstall SP4 since I did not backup the files before installing it.I’ve been around several forums but nobody there can help me.I do have an old 6GB HD with old stuff and W95 on it from my previous pc and I was thinking of installing it and put W98 SE on it and install the game on that HD just so I can play pc games on it.Does this make sense and can it be done?If so my most important question is how do I do this since I am not really a computer whiz.I (think I) can physically install the second HD.My present HD is on one IDE channel and my CD-Rom and CD-RW on the other IDE channel as master and slave.So for normal computing I want to use W2K on my present HD and for gaming W98 SE on the other.How do I accomplisg this if at all possible?Which one should be master and which one slave?How do I format and install W98 Se on the second HD? How do I get from one HD to the other to play games ? Do I have to adjust the BIOS to boot into one or the other OS?
Step by Step instructions to all this would be very much appreciated.I could ofcourse bring my pc to a computershop but I would really like to learn to do this myself.
Thanks.

Thanks, but this article does not address my situation not my questions.It's about multibooting from 1 HD and hardly of a step by step nature.Any other suggestions?

What you want to do is called a Dual-Boot, and your final setup will be:

WIN98 will be your C drive containing your MBR (Master Boot Record) for the dual-boot and must be installed first;
WIN2K will be your D drive and must be installed second.

Your 6GIG drive must be Master, and your present Drive must be the Slave.

You will lose all data on both drives, and they will require fresh installs of 98 and 2K so you must have the full system disks, not restore disks, as well as any program disks you want.

If that is acceptable, re-post back to the top and I will walk you through it.

You could try something like these. Probably be best to get two inserts and just leave the HDs in them. Just get another HD and plug it in when you want different OS.
