Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i7 Q740 1.73GHz / 6 GB
I have a Seagate Free Agent 500GB as a backup for my portfolio of work which I have not accessed recently. When I try to use it it does not show in computer. In Disk Management it is showing as Disk 2 but does not have a drive letter assigned. It says 465.76 GB is unallocated and that its capacity is 10.22 GB of which 100% is free. My WD drive shows as a Primary Partition rather than a Recovery Partition which is shown for this drive.
I still require all of the data stored on the drive as I no longer have any copies. I am running Windows 7 64bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try running testdisk or photorec to see if you can get any data. See Seagate for any recovery software also. Some other recovery software too. I think recurva is one but there are others.

If the case is bad then you might be able to use a new case or put internally to access.
