Scrollbar moves up and down

I have a HP Pavilion 7600 and it has become virtually unuseable as the scrollbar in all applications moves up and down constantly of its own accord. The PC usually works fine for about the first 10 minutes after i have switched it on, but as soon as it seems to have "warmed up", the scrollbar starts to move rapidly up and down when using IE/Word/notepad etc etc. Do you have any suggestions, there are no problems with my mouse, and i have tried using and installing a different mouse altogether but still have the same problem. The device manager shows there is no problem with my mouse

do you have a joystick hooked up to it? hehe, jk, but try changing your keyboard out as well. Sometimes buttons like up/down get funny, my alt button gets funny sometimes like that, so whenever I hit "r" it thinks I mean "alt+r"....switch out the keyboard and tell us what happens.
