I have a HP Pavilion ze4400 laptop. The scroll on the touch pad works only intermittently while viewing web pages. I make sure to point to the scroll area and click in the area to scroll and nothing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have downloaded new drivers. The laptop was sent to hp for warranty work and they said it was repaired but nothing changed. Is this a hardware problem or a software problem? I don't really want to send my laptop to hp again. Please help.

It is probably hardware. I know certain models did have a problem with the touchpad/scroll.
If you do not want to send it back, the down arrow works very well on webpages. I find it much easier to use the down arrow on my old compaq laptop, after some getting used to.
