Ok here is the deal. My brother left this compaq presario 4860 with a dvd, a second hard drive, and cdwr on my porch for me to fix. All I know is he screwed it up bad. None of the internal power/data cords were plugged in and the floppy drive cord is gone. I tried just hooking it up to the main hard drive and got it to sound like it was starting to boot, but nothing came on the moniter(from a working pc)and then it made a sound like it was shutting down. If someone had a pic of the inside of their 4800 it would help. I would really appriciate any ideas. Thanx

Check out www.hp.com, and go to the Compaq section. They have good details in the online manuals for changing parts and such, it might be useful. HTH

I did. They don't have that model, but they did the laptop my bro gave me.
