|There should be a button combination (like Fn + F8) to toggle which display to use. Consult your manual, or look at the icons on the keys to find out which keys.|
If that doesn't work, hook the desktop monitor and use the software (depending on your laptop, this could be special software that came with the computer, or the standard display properties) to change back to using the built in screen.
