I recently purchased a KVM switch to connect my laptop and desktop to same monitor. Only issue I am having is that whenever my laptop or desktop goes to sleep mode and then back on it will change the screen resolution to 1024 by 800 and won't allow me to switch back to 1600 by 900.
I installed monitor drivers, kvm switch drivers, video drivers but it is still doing the same. Sometimes it will actually keep the screen resolution when coming out of sleep mode. Not sure what may be causing this I am blaming it on the kvm switch. What do you guys think?

If you have the option of using an AC Adapter for the KVM, that might fix the issue.

Turn off the Plug and Play monitor on your laptop. It is trying to detect your KVM as a monitor and set the resolution to it which will fail and default to the 800x600 resolution.
