I can see the top of my desktop down on my taskbar. It comes and goes all the time. One time when I turned on my computer the screen started rolling up and down like crazy. I shut it down. Since then, I can see a very thin strip (from left to right) down on my taskbar that is exactly the top of whatever the screen is showing. It comes and goes every 3 seconds. How can I fix that? Thanks!!!!!

Overheating doesn't necessarily cause permanent damage.

...but prolonged exposure to excessive heat can cause permanent damage.
the worst part about heat damage (or any kind of electronics damage) is that it's not always an "all or nothing" thing: you can damage a component and it will still function, just not perfectly. you might experience performance or stability issues.
