Screen jumpy when scrolling

March 27, 2013 at 00:01:33
Specs: Windows XP 5.1 SP 3
Windows XP 5.1 :

Reloaded yesterday; tried to do all the updates I could find needed; but ... my screen does not scroll as smoothly and quickly as it did previously; do not think it's a mouse issue, as it does the same when cursoring down or up -- as I move down a page, the image doesn't flow, but jumps in "waves" as if it's only able to load a section at a time.

Any direction about how to eliminate this?

Many thanks.

Are you talking about scrolling Internet pages? Install Google Chrome browser and enable smooth scrolling. Also install newest driver for video card.

Sounds like a Video Driver issue to me. Go to your computer Manufacturers website and download the latest driver for your video card. This should eliminate the issue.

"Reloaded yesterday"

How experienced are you at installing an OS? Did you completely wipe the drive, create new ones, partition using NTFS, then reinstall? Did you then install all the necessary device drivers (chipset, video, audio, network, etc) before running WIndows Update?

A browser has nothing to do with the smoothness of the scrolling....
Anyways, i suggest you update your video drivers and fix your screen refresh rate and resolution(to the recommended setting)
