Hello all, I'd like to start out saying thank you
for all the times your forum has helped me
solve problems by reading other people's

However, today I was unable to find any other
threads on this specific problem, thus I
decided to create my first post on your fine

Now, onto my issue --

I have Compaq C714NR. And last night I went
to check my e-mail and the screen was black.
Being busy with studying for finals I put off an
inspection until tomorrow after school (now).

The backlight is perfectly fine, and I am able to
use an external monitor . So I am fairly certain
that it is not the backlight, or software.

Whilst fiddling with it I discovered that when I
partially close the lid (so that it is at about a
60 degree angle with the keyboard) the screen
comes on and is perfectly fine.

I can't quite figure this one out. Has anyone
had this problem before? Does anyone know
what I can do to fix it?

Thanks for reading. Please help.
