Solved Screen displaying only left side, ghosting to bottom of same

July 23, 2015 at 20:44:03
Specs: windows xp

Screen only displays on left side with a ghosting at the bottom 1/3 of the left side
its a notebook 1001tu. model NE570PA
its like the system is only recognizing the partial display as the BIOS boots in the same manner.

Tried new drivers, tried updating bois.

Was told that it has happened to the same model notebook, however I can not find any similar posts on any forums to confirm this...

Oh yeah, its the mother-in-laws piss ant PC

Does it do the same thing when you first turn it on and it's just showing the posting or logo screen? I'm thinking probably 'yes' since it's that way with the bios screen meaning it's not a windows or driver problem.

If it has a VGA port for an external monitor you can attach one there and see if you get a good screen. If so you may want to keep that setup. Another option would be to have it repaired. But it's an older one and repairing it may not be worthwhile. If it's one you need because of your software you might want to look for a used one and then swap drives.

if POST is also in the same display malformation I'm afraid it's a hardware problem, screen (TFT) or video controller.
This model is from 2009. I think you have seen the best of this notebook. If you can find someone who's hobby is repairing PC's for a small fee ....
