i just bought a SATAII drive online, and i was wondering if it would be compatible with my motherboard, asus p4p800. it supports sata, but i wasn't sure if sataII was backwards compatible.

would it be a problem if i already have 2 eide hard drives installed?

yes, it will be backward compatible. Having PATA drives as well will not be a problem. Just make sure you properly set upt he boot order in the BIOS.
