sata/ide hard drive cant set up!

i recently got a new computer its a hp 1210n. i wanted to install my old ide maxtor diamond 9 plus into the new computer as storage. But i cant get it to work i tried all the jumper setting no luck. i used another cable for this drive instead of sharin a cable with the cdrom drive. when i attach it, i see it on my bio but it will say ntldr error when it boots up?! how do i install the old drive onto my new computer? or else im gonna have to end up gettin another sata for storage.

It sounds like it is trying to boot from the IDE drive. Make sure you have your bios set to boot from the SATA drive.

how do i set that up? when i go into my bio setting, i have limited setting
strange thing i forgot to post be4 i plug my other ide HD in, which was a 4 gig and it worked right away. the comptuer picked it up as slave with no problem. that's y i dun understand y my 60gig maxtor isnt gettin the same result.
