I accidentally bought a SATA drive for my PC. What is involved in switching from IDE to SATA drive?

You can get a SATA to IDE adapter. Do a google search for IDE2SATA

I wouldn't guarantee an adapter will work on a P2. Adapters work on Mode6 controllers which run at 133. P2 is probably 66. You can try. I would exchange the drive if it were mine.

not to mention you will need a power adaptor, because you can't use an ide hard drive 4 pin power plug in a SATA hard drive unless you got one of those rare first generation SATA ones that have the same power fitting as an IDE.
