Specs: Windows XP, 1gb
i have a dell dimension 3100 with a sata 80gb hd. i also have a 160gb sata hdd formatted with xp which works fine i remove the existing 80 and replace with new 160. the broad cable from the wiring loom which goes into the hdd has another connection the same as if you could plug a 2nd hdd and indeed it does fit but with both hdd connected the pc only sees the first 1. i want to make the 2nd 160 a slave. how do i do this? do ineed more slots on my mother board or can i do this through bios settings? the thin cable only goes into the 1st sata hdd if that has anything to do with it. Any help would result in my eternal grattitude

There is no such think as a Slave on SATA drives. Its probably not seeing your second drive because the BIOS has the second SATA connector turned off. Go into the BIOS and set it to AUTO.
