Hi,

You probably won't experience any faster performance from a SATA drive as the data rate of IDE is already faster than most HDD's can access data.

You might not need molex connectors, I bought a Maxtor SATA HDD a while ago which came with them.

If you find a SATA HDD which is significantly cheaper than an equivalent IDE, you might even still save money after getting the SATA card.

But unless you find a really cheap one, I'd say go for an IDE.

Also, some HDD utilities, still do not recognise SATA HDD's, so IDE is more reliable.

Hope this helps,
Sam

If you will only have one hard drive, go with the old(er) IDE ("paralell" ATA).

you might run into some boot issues if you have your primary drive on your SATA expansion card.

IF you do go to SATA be sure the PCI card supports large drives, optical drives & can boot from it. (This would be a BIOS boot option)
I would also recommend staying with IDE.

I go with sata, if you feel like an upgrade mobo then you might get an onboard sata raid and might wish to run the latest sata.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
