i am goona to connect my current 20 GB HDD which uses the ATA technology, and buy a new one, which i am gonna to connect as master. i am wondering which hdd to buy: a hdd using the SATA tech' or a HDD using ATA tech? what should i buy?

i've heard that i've to put a floppy disk in the drive each time i want the SATA drive to work. is it true?

i will apriciate any extra imformation about runnig a sata hdd, and runnig a sata and ata hdd.

SATA is Serial ATA. It is more advanced then Parallel ATA and is slightly faster. You need a motherboard that supports SATA to use it.

Your information regarding floppy disks is crap. You may need a floppy disk to install the drivers, but that is about all.

Why would you have an up-to-date high speed technology like SATA, then rely on thirty year old technology like a floppy to make it work?
