I just bought my first SATA hdd, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...
This didn't come with anything other than the drive. Do I need any special cable for this since its listed as 3.0gb/s? The recommended cable is from Western Digital,
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/wdsc...
Can I just get any old cable? I was looking at this one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...
I have looked into this and it seems like everyone uses different terminology. SATA, SATA 150, SATA 2, SATA 3.0 gb/sec etc. I can't tell if these are just speeds and I need to get a cable to support it or not.
This is the mobo its going to go with if it helps, http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?in...

Thanks for the help.

Any sata cable will do. If your motherboard came with sata onboard, then it should of came with a cable as well.

Here is an example of a cable that will work for you: http://www.cablestogo.com/product.a...

Hope that helps!
