I'll give some info as to why I am asking this question. The other night I went a head and did a clean install of Media Center in my Dell /XPS 400. Things were going like they normally do (format drive, copy files and restart). But when it restarted it gave a message stating that windows was unable to start due to a hardware problem. I changed to hard drive configuration from ARRAY to regular SATA and things booted up and windows finished the install. But some things were missing. When I would right click and go to "send to" the C: and D: drive were not listed. They show under my computer and in Diskeeper but not the right click menu. I made a short cut to the D: drive because this is where I store all the things I want to back up. I checked in device manager and this is what was listed for the hard drives:
It shows two controllers, Intel(R)82801G (ICH7 FAMILY) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers-27DF and Intel(R) 82801G B/GR/GH (ICH7 Family)Serial ATA Storage Controller-27C0. I also have two Primary IDE Channels and one Secondary Channel.
Are these correct??
This is a list of the other things in my system.WD 160gb SATA II (2)
Diamond/Ati Radeon X1650 Pro
Tss DVD
Lite On DVD/RW/DL Lightscribe
Floppy Drive
13 in 1 Card ReaderIf there is any other info let me know. Thanks. I also appologize for the double post. I first went to the XP forum until I realized this was a hardware problem and not a software problem.
