April 6, 2012 at 09:19:31
Specs: Macintosh
how do I repair the power connector on a SATA 3.5 drive. I put it in an external enclosure will not light up the power light on the external enclosure. I put in another SATA drive to insure the enclosure is okay. Is there a way to fix the power on the hard drive circuit board, Is there a way to test the leads?

You are only guessing that the problem is in the power connection.
The entire circuit board may be faulty or even the motor may have failed.
It may be possible to replace the circuitboard but you would need an identical working drive from the same manufacturing batch to swap out the boards, with no guarantee that would solve the problem.
