SATA DVD-RW drive not recognized?

I installed 3 Barracuda 250GB SATA hard drives from Seagate and 1 SATA DVD-RW drive from Samsung. Initially, the DVD-RW drive was recognized by BIOS and I was able to set its boot priority. Now, after I setup the drives as RAID 5, I can no longer see my DVD-RW drive in BIOS and cannot set its priority to install the operating system. I have a Supermicro X7DBE motherboard and followed the instruction for setting up RAID 5 from the mobo's manual. I setup RAID 5 without any issues and all of the 3 SATA Seagate drives were added as a single volume. However, my SATA DVD-RW drive is gone. How can I get this drive to show again in BIOS, and is it possible because the DVD-RW is SATA, that it was somehow added to be part of the RAID? Your reply is appreciated.

It may have something to do with which SATA port you have the DVD drive connected to.
Some motherboards have ports that can't be use for a boot drive.

No, actually I found out that the built-in Intel RAID controller does not support SATA DVD drives as bootable devices. I connected an IDE DVD drive, and it works fine.
