Hi, I have an ASUS P4P800 motherboard with a 120 GB IDE hard disk drive with Win 2000 PRO installed. I also have 2 CD / DVDRW installed and I am adding a new 200 GB Western Digital SATA drive. It sees the new drive in the BIOS but everytime the pc starts it says Found New Hardware "IDE controller" Install Hardware Device Drivers - Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA storage controllers. I install the Drivers however the next time I start the pc the same message appears. There are no errors in Device Manager and I have the latest motherboard driver installed and also SP4 for Win 2K. The motherboard has onboard RAID so I was wondering if I need to enable this and install the Raid driver ???? Any suggestions ?

You need two SATA drives for a RAID array.

Negative, you can have a RAID array with only one drive...it just doesn't result in a performance increase other than having it on a separate channel.

I disagree,
How could it possibly be a redundant array with one drive? Just as RAID 0 is not a true RAID neither can a single disk be an array. I have never even heard of such a thing.
