Hey,

I recently brought a Sata 3.0 Samsung SSD 830, however, i only have sata 2 on my mobo.
I want to buy a Sata 3 PCI card Like this one (LINK). But i only have a PCI slot free :(

Main Question:
Would a PCI x1 fit into a PCI slot?

Thank you! :)

✔ Best Answer
It won’t work in a conventional PCI slot, but if you happen to have a second PCIe x16 slot, it will work in that.
Your new SSD will work with your board’s existing SATA 2 controller. You’ll still see a huge increase in performance over a mechanical drive.
