I tried to move a small movie i had onto the memory disk via usb reader. I then placed this in my camera and wasn't able to read the card. When i placed the card back into the usb reader it was also not able to read the card. Neither windows xp or my camera can format the card. I have onther card that works fine and can be formatted. any suggestions.

If windows can't reformat this device try deleting the partition using Delpart and then re-partitioning and formatting. Delpart can be found at Radified.com/files

This tool sounds like it is able to operate in the dos environment. This card is plugged in through a usb reader device. I don't believe it can be recognized in dos.

Normally it is used from a floppy to delete harddrive partitions. I don't know if it would work for you or not.

Nick You asked for "any" suggestions. Delpart may well accomplish the task. I just don't know. I do know that it is capable of deleting any partition. You obviously have a partition on this device that windows can't deal with. See if you can enter a path to the USB device from Delpart. If you can, Delpart should work. Also, consider where you are and the price you pay for the tech support here. You probably should have gone to the tech support for the device in question.

Since DOS does not support USB then i hardly think it will work. Thanks for your advice.

The program can be run from inside windows, I just tried it. If you do proceed with this be very cautious because the process is not reversable if you delete the wrong parttiion.
