Kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop, eh?
Check with the owners manual. Some units have to have a battery to turn on. Others work fine without. There exists the possibility it could damage the charging circuit permanently.

Not only safe but recommended by IBM when you use the laptop as a desktop.

We run them that way for years,24/7 without issue.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Dell also recommend that you remove the battery if the laptop is going to be used on mains for long periods.
