S3 Savage Pro8 DDR freeze my OS

The system freeze after installing the display driver. It is an onboard display(ProSavage8 3D Graphic DDR). What I can do now is run in 16 colors(640X480) and the system is running fine. I have tried to use update the drivers and even the chip set driver. But it still not works. Anyone meet the same problem as me? Any suggestion? Thanks.
