short question:
after a request is made from an internal computer on a network to send and receive info from a website, how does the router know which internal computer to send the packet to be received? how does it mark the packet?
i know you can make static passages through a router to each internal computer through port forwarding, but when those passages arent set up, how does the router know where to send each internal computers requests??

Each PC has its own IP address. If you double click on your Local Area Connection and select the Support tab, you will see the IP address.
Good luck, Sandor

I'm pretty sure the way it works is the router sends the packets to every computer, just the one whos listening for it at that moment will use it. Other machines will disable it. This is why when networks get really huge, even if no computers are browsing except yours, its still slow. Have a look around a large network, even computers that are off are recieving packets.
