Rocketfish Keyboard problems

I just got a bluetooth mouse and keyboard combo from rocketfish. The mouse works great. However, everytime I go in and out of standby the mouse still works but I have to resync the keyboard with the software which involves me opening up the configuration, searching for the keyboard, pressing the connect button, and typing in a passkey. Why does it even have a passkey? How do I solve this?

Did you install appropriate WinXP drivers for the combo?
As far as the passkey requirement goes, I would suggest you read the documentation accompanying the device.
The manual explains the procedure for installing. The two devices need to be paired and the procedure is also described.
The reason for the the password is because the range could allow another user to access your computer. I didn't read the entire manual to see for sure but I would guess there is a workaround for that.
The manual should be in PDF format on the CD you got with the keyboard. If not, look at the link below.
