It would help if you told which "retarded" CPU you're talking about, which retarded board you're installing it in, which retarded RAM you're using, & which retarded PSU you have. I have no doubt about the intelligence of the builder, just the damm retarded parts that are being used...lol

How did your old cpu get "burnt"?
If it was because a previous PS failed, that may have damaged anything connected to the mboard, or the mboard itself.

"Asus A8N VM"

Apparently Socket 939.

A looked at bit at the manual for your mboard.
- PCIe slots.
You need an absolute minimum of 430 watts power supply capacity, and that's if you don't install a PCIe graphics card - closer to 500 watts minimum would be better!
- A 24 position main connector and a auxiliary 4 position connector are required from the PS to this mboard.

Cpu support:
Athlon 64 3500+ - CG, rev. D, rev. E3 supported by all bios versions.
Athlon 64 3500+ rev. E4 must have bios update version 0506 or greater

No mention of E6 (see next)

"CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Vience Core"

Dats reely goot spellink!

Athlon 64 Venice (90 nm SOI)
CPU-Stepping: E3, E6
Either or both??
If it's either, your mboard won't support E6 by the looks of the cpu support specs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon...

Athlon 64 Venice 3500+
Part number: ADA3500DAA4BP
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...

Therefore - IF you have that cpu part number, it looks like the bios MAY support it already.

If you don't have that part number, it looks like the bios WILL NOT support it, and it can't be upgraded to support it unless it's rev. E4.

If you don't have that part number, tell us which one you have.

" RAM: 512MB Hynix DDR 400 Ram"

That's relatively useless - what is(are) the module ID number(s)?
If the same ram was working with the old CPU, it's probably fine.

You still haven't answered this:
"How did your old cpu get "burnt"?
If it was because a previous PS failed, that may have damaged anything connected to the mboard, or the mboard itself."

If you're not sure if it was because of the old PS failing or becoming defective, see response 4 in this:
http://www.computing.net/hardware/w...

"....i will check for a bios update but how to i update it, if the motherboard does not post"

You can't update the bios unless the mboard is working properly.

ADA3500BPBOX is a cpu plus an AMD approved heatsink and cpu fan.

Ordering P/N (PIB) ADA3500BPBOX
Ordering P/N (Tray) ADA3500DAA4BP
Stepping E3
http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/des...

ADA3500DAA4BP is the same cpu part number I found in the above specs.

If the Asus specified as supported Athlon 64 3500+ rev. E3 cpu is the same thing as the stepping rate of the cpu being E3, then you don't need to update the bios - it already supports that cpu - something else is wrong.
You would have to get a hold of Asus to confirm that - phoning them is probably a better idea than waiting a long time for an email response.

You could try updating the bios, but you would have to temporarily install a cpu the mboard DOES recognize in order to be able to flash the bios, assumimg the mboard itself is okay.

"...to Tubesandwires making fun because i mispelled a word i cant even pronounce isnt cool.."

I can't hear your pronunciation. It's important to make sure you copy and spell essential specifications right so that we aren't trying to find something that doesn't exist.

Waddaminit.
Apparently there are TWO possible cpus that come with the same ADA3500BPBOX package spec.
The other one is ADA3500DAA4BW which uses stepping rate E6:
http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/des...

That one WILL need a bios update.

You would have to remove your cpu heatsink to confirm that, and if the cpu has a thin thermal pad rather than thermal grease or paste, you have to scrape off the thermal pad and use thermal grease or paste instead.

According to this, your mboard supports that cpu's E6 stepping rate:
http://www2.amd.com/us-en/recmobo/R...
but according to Asus you must update the bios for greater than rev. E3, which I assume is the same as the stepping rate being E3.

If you DO have the ADA3500DAA4BW cpu, and you examined your old PS and can't find any of the syptoms I pointed to, and you don't have access to a workingg lesser cpu that
will work in this mboard, take it to a computer repair place and have them temporarily install a lesser cpu that will work, and have them flash the bios, and your new cpu should work fine.

Are you determined to spend more money?
I doubt very much that you can return the 3500+ CPU you already have, and even if you can there will likely be a significant re-stocking fee because they will have to test the cpu to make sure it is OK.

Why don't you just do this?:
"....take it to a computer repair place and have them temporarily install a lesser cpu that will work, and have them flash the bios, and your new cpu should work fine."

Also keep this in mind when you re-install any heat sink:
"if the cpu..." heatsink "...has a thin thermal pad..." stuck to it "...rather than thermal grease or paste, you have to scrape off the thermal pad and use thermal grease or paste instead."

If it has a thermal pad, you need to get some thermal grease or thermal paste if you don't have any.
It is not recommended you leave the used thermal pad on the heatsink and also use grease or paste - AMD has proven in tests the cpu will not be cooled as well as it is with one or the other if you do that.
You can get replacement thermal pads, but not many places that have computer parts have them, and they are only supposed to be used once - if they are damaged at all they must be scraped off.

You can look up the Cpu Support of your mboard model on the Asus websites. It also tells you whether all bios versions support a particular cpu, or whether you need to update the bios first - the latter would still require you temporarily install a lesser cpu that will work in order for you to be able to flash the bios.
