CPU/Ram: AMD 64 3500+ / 2 GIGs of

I just installed a new harddrive with my new system and i wanted to copy old files from my old drive to the new drive. It all goes great untill I try to get into my documents. It says "Access Denied My Documents is not accesible" Is there any way to get around this. It has all my songs on it and i dont wanna lose the files.

maybe if u move all the contents of my documents into another folder that u made somewhere else and delete my documents.that might work

are you doing this through "my network places"? if so, go onto your old system and right-mouse-click on your "my documents" folder ,if there is a sharing tab, click that (otherwise, choose sharing and security from the drop down menu), then check off "Share this folder on the network", and click ok to close the window

once you do that you will be able to access it on your new system

Since your OS is XP Home, you need to boot into safe mode (hit F8 during boot), log in to an account with administrative rights, right click the drive or the folders you can't access in explorer > properties > security > advanced > owner. Change the owner to your username and check "replace owner on subcontainers and objects".
