I have my Fathers old lap top and it is full of his rubbish - I would like to take it back to before he got hold of it and I think that would be to restore it back to facoty settings - unfortunatly I do not have a clue how to do it. I has not CDs (windows etc) or internet connection.
Hoping that someone can help

Instead of going through the whole restoring process, why don't you just delete all the stuff you don't want. In your situation, that seems like the best thing to do.

If win 98 is the OS....finding the installation floppy's is a snap.
Either do as grasshopper suggested or find the OS and do a complete format and reinstall.

First do a search for win98se
Then a 98 driver pack.
They are out there.

Thanks for your responses. I shall have a good look at what files I do not need and get rid of it - I only want to put some music on there so let see what happens. Thanks again for your advice.
