If I make a tape backup of my hard disk, how would I restore my system from it in the event of a crash or reformat?

Hi,
Your tape drive backup unit should come with software which will allow you to create a set of emergency recovery floppy disks.
You can use these to recover your system after a format.
Alternatively you can re-install your operating system and tape backup unit software and then do a restore from the tape of anything you don't have the orginal CD's for, ie data files downloaded files, music & video files.

Hi,
What model drive did you get. If it is a Seagate travan STT unit I may have an upgrade that would be of use.
