Why is it so hard to find a resonably priced 15"LCD . I want to obtain one for a second display ,I now have a 19"LCD and since I have a TV Tuner card and usally have TV on my 19" in a small screen at the bottom of my dispaly. I thought it would be better to go with dual monitors and use the 15" for the TV display ? I've looked around for 15" LCD ,which there is not a big selection and most of them run the same or more then a 17" or 19". I really do not have the room on my PC Desk fopr another 19" and even a 17" would be crowding my work area ! Anyone that has a link to resonably priced 15"LCD it would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks Nick

Buy a bigger desk.

Look on the used market. Devices like LCD panels are made in fabs. Big, multi-billon dollar fabs, like memory chips and CPUs. Once the new tooling needed for larger panels or smaller feature size has been amortized, the actual cost difference to produce something like a 15" panel compared to a 19" panel is negligible, so there are higher profit margins in producing 19" panels. So, fewer and fewer 15" panels are produced which limits the supply/demand ratio from ever driving the prices on the 15" panels any lower. That's the reason why the newer state-of-the-art memory chips are cheaper than the old memory chips. If the demand for laptops were to experience a significant drop, then you might see a sharp drop in small panel prices as laptops are the primary market right now for the smaller panels.

Well, it was just a suggestion. pyrolitic pretty much explained why there's little price difference between 15" & 17". And if you look at the specs of what few 15" LCD's are available, most of them have horrible response times...12ms or 16ms. Generally not good for video or games as the longer response time will cause ghosting. I figured the 16" might be an option as it's reasonably priced, 8ms response time & ships for free. The downside is it uses analog only. But if you don't have the room, you don't have the room. I can see my TV from my computer desk so I have it covered...lol.

Would some kind of monitor stand or arm be too expensive in addition to the cost of a monitor?
They can give you room in the "up" direction.

Actually the wall arm attachment has been a real consideration. I like the way once you are finished you can simply fold the monitor up ,to the wall ! I want to again thank evryone for your suggestions and informed replies. I will let those interested know when I buy and what I buy !
My first step is to install the cable amplifier I just puchased an 8 Port Bi-Directionial TV HDTV Splitter Signal Booster with Passie Return- Path 1000MHz
