Specs: Windows XP Professional with SP3 (32Bit), Intel Pentium M with 0.99 GB RAM
I installed Windows XP Professional on a laptop which had Linux prior. Devices are okay, but what is ticking me off (at first) is that the screen resolution will only go up to 1024 by 768. Acting on a hunch, I switched the refresh rate to 50 Hz, and then back to 60 Hz, and am now able to go up to a much higher max resolution.

The issue is that any resolution above 1024 by 768 only displays part of the screen; the mouse would have to be moved around to move the viewing area around. How can I get the screen to display the entire display in the viewing area at once above the 1024 by 768 resolution? This has the Intel 915GM integrated video card.

Intergrated isn't a card. Did u install video driver(all necessary drivers must be installed)?
Without listing system model # or monitor model # we can't tell the correct resolution.

@kuwese: I thought the laptop's information was included in my post. It is a Dell Latitude D610 Laptop, and yes, all video drivers are okay.

Looks like the screen resolution is supposed to be 1400x1050.
