Resizing Partition

I have a hard drive with two partitions. Is there a way to resize the partitions without having to reformat???

yes, many software programs can do it including Partition Magic. But I am not sure if there is anything Free around that can do it. Perhaps someone knows of a free download and can reccommend it. I would be wary of any free downloads that no one can personally reccommend from using it as your data is at risk.

The trial version of Partition Magic lets you go through all the motions of doing something, but it does not actually make any changes.

You don't even need to do it in XP. You could add the partition as a folder on to C:\


No matter what you do, I suggest that you do a complete backup with ntbackup with system state before you start.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

I have re-sized partitions with various operating systems already on them, about 10 times in the last 2 months using the Gpart tool on a puppy linux cd (free).

Gparted is an excellent full featured free partitioning tool as is PartedMagic.
