Resetting After Bios

Just thought I would get some expert input on this ;) My neighbours computer continually resets just after the bios. I can get into the bios settings but this makes no difference, and I can also get into F8 windows menu but again it resets immediately selecting any option, even selecting not to reset on an error, which makes me think its a hardware problem. Another possibly related problem is that last week his HD completely fried, so could this be his PSU in its death throws?
I can post the exact specs if necessary, hope someone has an idea.
Cheers, Linebacker

So does the HD still work? Is it possible to try the HD in another computer? If it does then test his computer on another PSU.

I think you mean after the POST screens. That said, a dead piece of hardware in the system can cause those symptoms. Strip the system down to the bare minimums and try it. Also, try the HD alone on the other IDE channel.
