Solved Reset Canon printer after fitting new generic ink cartridge

November 7, 2013 at 09:47:47
Specs: Windows XP
I have just fitted a re-fill ink cartridge to my Canon MG 3150 and instead of showing a "full" symbol on the printer screen. a message appears saying printer head needs re-alligning. When I press ok, nothing happens and we are back to square one. Is this some techie sensor in the printer to ensure you buy the the official cartridge which I consider to be massively overpriced or can you reset the printer. The ink cartridge is definitely full of ink.

Any help or advice gratefully received

A ink cartridge contains a sensor that detects ink levels. Because you are using one that is re-filled the cartridge sensor doesn't reset. Whether your's can be reset, I don't know.

for reset methods.
