I have a Compaq Armada laptop using Win98. My problem started when I was reinstalling win98SE when the power failed and I did not know. It had 30 mins left to compete the install. I did not know the powe had failed and I kept using the Alt.ctrl del to start it up. I did it 3 time and the problem started. Now I cannot get to A or D drive ar even get to safe mode.

First it was the system.ini file and I renamed it. Then I igot an additional error message that the vmm32.vxd is requried to run windows and it is not in my path. I had renamed the ini file to "ch". I had also did restore of the registry to 09/23/2009 but did not help. I am not a pro at this and would need instruction in applying the instructions. I would appreciate anyone's help.
