replacing HDD in Aspire 5670

June 5, 2009 at 14:36:00
Specs: Macintosh
I pulled the drive but there was a mylar cable running
below it that moved out of position. it lays across a
large oiece of copper(heat sink?). I can't see any
place to plug this in to the board or for that matter
anything. Is this just for heat transport or does it
actually attach to something? My email is
rvrrunr@hotmail.com if someone out there can help
me. Thanks
Rick

This is a public forum, so asking people to email you is inappropriate, not to mention, a bad idea to post your email in plain text.

Did you check Acer's Support Site before posting here?

I need to see pictures. What you probably need to do is remove the heat sink and there may be a place to install it under the lip of the heat sink. I may be wrong on this but the cable needs to plug in somewhere. Look at the motherboard for your laptop on ebay -> http://cgi.ebay.com/Acer-Aspire-567...
and see if something looks broken on yours. That cable needs to go somewhere. You just need to find it.

yes searched the net for a repair manual but doesn't really
show what I'm seeing. Also searched lots of other HDD
replacements by other manufacturers to no avail. Hope to hear
from Acer support.
