Hi This little old laptop is telling me it needs a new cmos battery and after googling I came up with this http://www.portablebatteries.com/b-... but I don't know what type of batteries are inside. I have unwrapped cmos batteries that are encased in plastic like this but as I don't have the service manual for this machine it would be nice to know before I operate on it. So if someone knows if these are a set of batteries that I can buy at the shops rather than buy over the net then that would be helpful.

Question: Did you ever take apart then successfully reassembled, tested and operated notebooks?

I haven't taken everything apart in a notebook but I have changed a cmos battery before and many other things. I haven't taken a motherboard out or changed a power supply but just about everything else I have changed. For some reason the error is not there now though. It is odd. Now I am in the middle of installing win3.11.
