Specs: Windows 7
I bought a replacement screen for my gateway lt4010u. After installing the screen I see the display split in half vertically. Right side of the half shows partial screen and left side of the half shows mirror image of right side. a thick white line devide 2 halves. Can anyone help with this?

I'm guessing you completely reassembled the laptop before testing it? Is the Gateway splash screen or BIOS screen also split in 1/2? Double check the ribbon cable connections to the screen & motherboard & make sure the cable didn't get pinched during re-assembly. Did you try connecting an external monitor & see if the screen-split carries over to the external?

Did you try contacting the seller of the replacement screen?

Thanks for responding. that's right I completely reassembled the laptop. When I connect to external monitor, it works fine. Gateway splash screen and BIOS screen is also split in 1/2 on new screen.
Connections look fine.

If you are able to access the bios can you see what the current settings are?

And did you per chance do anything in the bios settings when rebuilding the laptop?

Also is the screen you have received a genuine replacement, one definitely compatible with your model Gateway?
