Very good day to all...

I got a problem that i cannot solve for myself. The PC i made has damage 5 different PS. And the latest im using to try to solve the problem is a 325w PS. The weird thing is that i notice that the power supply is overheating. It gets really really hot. BUt is weird cause thats my testing PS and i know it works okey... Workds great with other PCs. So im trying to figure whats the problem. This is the list of things i done so far.

1. See if it is an electrical problem. (OKEY)
2. MOBO and rest of hardware seems physically okey
3. memory okey
4. change the case
5. re-install all hardware in the proper manner a couple of times.
6. checked the HD, DVD BURNER, MODEM, and Floppy drive. to see if they work (They okey)

it really weird cause this PC keeps on burning all the PS i put on it. I cannot think on any other thing but that the MOBO someway is damaging the PS... (I know its really extreme, but i really cannot think on anything else., i even have doubts in that solution)

Can you guys help me out???

Thank you in advance

Are you buying name brand PSUs or generic cheapies? If you're not spending at least $35-40 for a 350W unit, you're probably buying junk.

hello!! The very first PS i put on the PC was an antec 450W PS.
i know i used two junkies PS after that one, and then i used two more COMPusa brand. I don't know who there manufacture is but i never had problems with ther PS before. The one im using right now is kind of a junkie but this is my test PS... I only use it for tests and never fail me before. I try using it on another PC and it works perferctly fine... But when i connect it to the computer that has the problems. It starts to overheat.

Any suggestions?

Have you actually been able to measure the temperature to see how hot the power supply gets ? Does it force your computer to shutdown or not be able to boot up ? Also, what connection are you using between the power supply and the motherboard ?

Well temperature i didnt. but ill do it as soon as i know whats a good temp for a PS. The connections is the regular 20 pin connection. Tried my PS in some other Computers before and doesnt overheat by that much...

Yes for some reason i never saw the CPU temperature before... it goes as high as 51C in idle mode, so i think that means something... ill look whot i can do with the CPU temp. and report back here...

You're making a lot of general statements but not giving any specifics. How about listing the specs of your PC, how many case cooling fans you have & how they're arranged. Also, what is the room temp & system temp? 51C at idle may or may not be on the high side...it depends on the CPU.
