Replaced laptop mobo Need to Remove known HDD Password

Specs: Windows 8
The motherboard on my Gateway LT3103u laptop went out due to a power surge. I have HDD Password set, and putting HDD in other computer did not recognize my password. After trying every option I could, I purchased a replacement motherboard because I was told that the HDD controller on the motherboard had to be the same for this to unlock (Gateway support said this). The password is still not working. I am getting the following error after 3 failed password attempts. "Hdd password error code [02530]"

I must retrieve this data, but cost of data recovery service is prohibitive. can anyone help?

Gateway LT3103u
Seagate 250GB HDD

Gateway is the only ones that can help you.

The HDD password is also stored on a chip on the motherboard and they must both match. Only they will know how to circumvent it and will probably require proof of ownership
