Replace Pentium I with Pentium II?

Greetings all, I'm back...
My question is this: I have an old Magitronics 600 laptop with a Pentium I processor and 40 Mb of RAM. A friend of mine is donating an old PII processor, and I was wondering if I could swap it out for the original Pentium I. I read somewhere that the PII uses a different connection to the motherboard, so I'm not sure if it's doable. As usual, any and all responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also swapping motherboards might cause your `Restore' disks not to work. Manufacturer's generally lock their software to the bios on their motherboards.

p1 uses sockets 5 to 8 whereas p2 uses a slot cnnector which is bigger than the p1 cpu so won't fit into laptop
