remove write protection from sd card

Specs: Windows XP
I cannot get my pictures to transfer from my computer to my 4G or 8G SD card. They will transfer to my smaller cards, but i get a "disk is write protected, remove write protection or use another disk" how do I remove write protection?

maybe this will help if it isn't a small switch on the side of the card.

I right clicked and went to properties, I do not see any options to make it writable.

Did you look at the link I posted? It suggested a registry modification you need to make in order to remove write protection. Nothing to do with right-click options.

Could this be related to the formatting of the card or the capability of the reader software? I heard of a 2GB limit and different FAT32 formatting.
