I'm working on a HP Pavilion ze4600 Notebook computer that I purchased from a pawn shop. The computer has a bios password enabled on it so I was going to pull the cmos battery to get rid of it.
However when I tried to dissasemble the laptop I couldn't for the life of me figgure out how to get the keyboard off of it. which needs to be done as there are two more screws holding the laptop together under the keyboard.
I have called HP tech support and they couldn't(read wouldn't) tell me how to do it. I searched the web for four hours. And checked HP's website and can find almost no information on this model of laptop let alone how to take the keyboard off of it.
Can anyone be of assistance with this problem.
My thanks in advance.

Well, if you woulda hada THINKPAD you could have downloaded the manual.
Have you been to the HP support site, is there no manual for download?

Possibly to make your problem even worse, you should be aware that pulling the motherboard battery will not always clear the password (especially on laptops).

Yes I have as I mentioned in my post. No they do not have a copy of the manual on there site nor was I able to find it on eBay or Amazon.

Well that is a bridge I will cross if I can ever get to it. Though isn't there usealy either a jumper you can set to restore default settings to bios or portions of the motherboard that you can circut accross and run power to the unit to reset the bios to default?
