Comment: hi, Was wondering if any one can tell me how to stop the icons in the task bar from loading at start up. The two in question are Coolmon and Ghrone, the coolmon one you can right click and select hide icon after start up, but the Ghrone one dose'nt seem to have a option. I know its in the registry some where if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be a help. Cheers Tongawoga

Reply: (edit)Run regedit from start manu/run to edit the regestry Open up HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run There is the list of all applications that run at start up. Simply delet the onces you dont want to run. Also check the same pass under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, becuase there might be more apps.

Reply: (edit)In general you have to stop the program from running if you want it's icon to go away. It's just programmed that way.

Reply: (edit)In XP you can adjust the way the icons are displayed in the task bar. Right click the grey of the task bar and select properties. Towards the bottom portion of the window is the Notification Area. Click customize and set the icons to how you want them to react.
