Bare with me a little because this story my be fun.

I was DJing at a local gig yesterday, and some fool spilled his cup of RedBull and ice on the laptop.

First the pointer went dead then in a matter of seconds it all died, and the computer wouldnt boot anymore.

Bieng a bit responsible I immediatly unplugged all usb, battery and ac outlets.

I then left home in a rush holding the laptop upside down. I left the club a mixed cd if your wondering.

Once I got home, i opened the laptop and blow dried all the inside then left it open all night to dry till today afternoon when i decided to take it to the lousy techs.

They said that i should risk it and try and put it on. And so i did, and to my luck it went fine and booted.

However, when I got home i discovered a couple of hidden problems.

The whole laptop had slowed down considerably. All programs take longer to load.

Audio is clipping, and this is the worst of them for me, bieng as though I count on the laptop in all my gigs.

The keys are ofcourse all sticky, and I have a general feeling that the laptop is about to die in any second.

Oh and it beeps randomly, the sound it gives when if first boots.

Im really concerned, and I want to clean all the stickiness from the inside, because i believe its the sugar stuck on the chips that doing all the trouble, maybe the sound card took the direct hit.

Is there any specail solution i could use.

Could anyone put their 2 cents on the issue?

"The whole laptop had slowed down considerably. All programs take longer to load."

The famous RedBull crash. Energy drinks are known to do that.

Seriously though, your biggest problem is the sugar and drying it wth a blow dryer didn't help.

Pull the hard drive, memory etc and rinse it again with a spray bottle of distilled water. Not regular tap water. Rinse it good. You have nothing to loose. Place it in oven that is not much warmer than 115 degrees F.

You MAY, and I stress MAY, save it, but I'm betting it's gone.

Coming home from very lonely places, all of us go a little mad: whether from great personal success, or just an all-night drive, we are the sole survivors of a world no one else has ever seen.

Nope its not the hard or the memory, both of them dont have any trace of sugar what so ever. I just opened them and they were totally dry. I think that a bit of sugar might have fallen on the motherboard. Not sure. I mean the confusing part is that the machine is working fine! I can do anything on it, its just slower by at least 30% and not as responsive.

hmmm... did the red bull give it wings? Angel wings, killing it of course.....

Like the other guy said, sugar or something in the drink can be corrossive to your computer. I would suggest taking it apart, and rinsing it very well with water. SOmetimes, a washing machine with cool water can fix it. your laptop may be gone though. Save the Hard drive if you can.
