I could really use some help with my hard drive... =/

I deleted the volume, but did not format it yet. I need to either get the volume back or redo the volume. There are files on the hard drive that i REALLY need. So i can not format it, which would most likely fix my problem. There are some expensive programs i have tried out in demo mode and they see the files on the drive...

Computer Management/Device Mangement says that the drive is:
Dynamic, Healthy, Online, appears to have a volume because i can delete it or format the drive, but it just isnt the volume that knows all the files are there i guess.

SystemWorks says that "The Volume does not contain a recognized file system"

I was curious if there is a cheap or free way to go about getting the files back? I really appreciate any help u guys can give me.

I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY help with this..
Thanks!

Once you delete a volume it is gone forever. You could try some data recovery tools, but I don't think you'll be happy. The best bet is to send the drive to a lab, if you must have the data back.

Hi

Dynamic file systems are something I have not had to work on - yet. [And I'm not real keen on the way they work, but maybe at some point, I'll see dynamic file systems as not so problematic after all]

Anyhow logic would indicate that Ontrack or Aconis file recovery programs should be designed for such "accidental" and straight foward situations.
